I shared this video awhile back on one of my other blogs. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts about Sir Ken Robinson’s ideas after you’ve watched the video. How do his assumptions relate to the efforts and desires of homeschooling? He definitely sees the detriment of the manufacturing assembly line and grouping students by their “manufacture date”.
Let me know what you think.
I have my children enrolled in an online virtual academy. I would love to know how to homeschool my children without using an online public school. HOWEVER, I want to see that they are on track. I would love to know how to use Sir Ken Robinson’s plan for the rest of us. How do we use this for the entire world NOW? I know that RSA has a few schools in the UK. But what about the rest of us? What do we do?
Ami, I encourage you to just start actively searching online for homeschooling. Whatever you think about having a question about, just search for that phrase on Google and begin reading. To some degree, make like Nike and JUST DO IT! One of the great things about homeschooling is that nothing is set in stone. Try something, if it doesn’t work readjust and change something around. Try something new. Just figure out what’s going to work best for your kids. We’re starting our 4th year now and we still are exploring the “best” methods for our kids and for us as parents. Hang in there!
Thank you!
